Gulfport’s Brooklynn Montana wins NIAAA scholarship

SUMMARY: In game two of the championship series between LSU and Florida, the Gators broke the College World Series single game record with 24 runs scored. Florida struck first with a two-run home run by Wyatt Langford. LSU showed some fight and scored six runs in the second inning. They continued to score runs throughout the game and ultimately won the championship. In other news, Gulfport Alum Derek Hall threw out the first pitch of a game wearing a custom Biloxi Shuckers jersey. Former Auburn Tiger Noah Campbell discussed his transition from baseball to professional football. Brooklyn Montana, a former Gulfport softball and volleyball star, won a scholarship for her athletic achievements. Jaden Bernie, a Harrison Central alum, committed to Mississippi State after playing two seasons at Chipola Community College. Justin Steele, a George County alum, had an impressive performance for the Chicago Cubs in the MLB London Series. Biloxi alum Colt Keith was named to the American League roster for the MLB Futures game, along with Biloxi Shuckers players Jackson Churio and Jefferson Cairo. The game will take place on July 8th at T-Mobile Park in Seattle.
