Gulfport man sentenced to 20 years for manslaughter
SUMMARY: Demonte Lavell Williams of Gulfport was sentenced to a maximum of twenty years in prison for manslaughter by Circuit Court Judge Christopher Schmidt, according to District Attorney Crosby Parker. The sentence came after a four-day jury trial where evidence showed that Williams had shot and killed his children’s mother’s fiancé, Brent Jones, over a social media argument.
