Group looking to expand medical marijuana in Arkansas files lawsuit
SUMMARY: The non-profit group Arkansans for Patient Access has been advocating for expanded medical marijuana access in Arkansas, collecting signatures for a ballot amendment aimed at waiving medical card fees and increasing provider access. However, the state ruled they lacked sufficient valid signatures, prompting a lawsuit against the Secretary of State, claiming some rejected signatures were valid. Supporters remain optimistic about getting the amendment to the ballot, emphasizing potential benefits for patients. Opponents, including Senate President Pro Tempore Bart Hester, argue against the expansion, citing concerns about increased drug accessibility for youth. The Secretary of State’s office has not commented on the lawsuit.

Iran launches missiles attacking Israel
SUMMARY: Iran launched nearly 200 ballistic missiles at Israel in retaliation for Israeli attacks on Hezbollah and its offensive in Lebanon, causing sirens and explosions across Israel. As of now, there have been no reported deaths. The U.S. is actively assisting in intercepting the missiles, and in response to the escalating conflict, the Pentagon is deploying additional military support, including three squadrons of aircraft (F-15s, F-16s, and A-10s) and increasing U.S. troop presence in the region by 2,000-3,000 personnel, joining over 40,000 already stationed there.
Escalation in the ongoing struggle in the Middle East continues as more US forces head to help Israel defend itself against an Iranian missile attack.

New DNA evidence links man to Morgan Nick's disappearance
SUMMARY: Billy Jack Lincks is the sole suspect in the 1995 disappearance of Morgan Nick, whose hair was identified in Lincks’ truck. The truck, spotted near the crime scene, was tracked down in 2020, leading to new forensic evidence connecting Lincks to these events. Morgan’s mother, Colleen Nick, now believes Lincks kidnapped her daughter, stating he “stole” Morgan from her family. Lincks, who died in prison in 2000 for unrelated charges, was previously on police radar but never charged in connection with Morgan’s case. Authorities continue to seek information about her disappearance, emphasizing that Morgan is still missing.
New DNA testing linked a man named Billy Jack Lincks to the 1995 disappearance of Morgan Nick, the Alma Police Department announced Tuesday morning.
