Group effort led to rescue of missing children in Monroe County

SUMMARY: Three under 10 reported missing in Monroe County are now safely back home. The Monroe County Sheriff’s Department enlisted search and rescue teams after the kids disappeared from a residence around 2 p.m. on Thursday. Local agencies, the , quickly mobilized. K9 officer Starling and his dog Charlie located the children’s scent within 15 minutes, leading to their discovery around 4:15 p.m. The children were in good spirits, sharing tales of treasure hunting and a kitten they found. Over 90% of the search team consists of volunteers, highlighting their commitment to community safety.

Three children are back home and safe after rescuers found them on Thursday, July 25 in Monroe County.
