SUMMARY: Good evening and welcome to WTV 9 Sports. I’m Jason Williams. Today’s “Grind to Glory” stop, sponsored by Southern Housing, takes us to Pontotoc. The Warriors moved up to Class 5A last season for the first time in 20 years, facing a tough first year with a 3-7 record and missing the playoffs for the first time since 2015. Head Coach Jeff Carter aims for the team to embrace their new challenge with a “no complaints” mindset, seeking more leaders through a Unity Council. With more experience and health, Carter believes the team will improve this season. The Warriors start their season on the road against the Amory Panthers.
