GRIND TO GLORY: Lafayette County Commodores looking to spend the summer starting with the basics

SUMMARY: The Lefay Commodores, sponsored by Southern Housing, are rebuilding after a 7-5 season and a second-round playoff exit, having lost 17 starters to graduation. Head Coach Anthony Hart is focusing on rebuilding team basics during summer practices. Despite the inexperience, senior quarterback Nick Thompson and other leaders are confident in the team’s work ethic and determination, practicing rigorously three days a week. Hart emphasizes the importance of team chemistry and leadership from seniors like Charvon Bell. The Commodores kick off their season against cross-town rivals, the Oxford Chargers, on August 30th. Sammy Costas reports from LEF High School for WTV 9 News.

The Lafayette County Commodores graduated 17 starters last season. They will have a very inexperienced team- heading into next season.
