‘They don’t have to live that label.’ Down Syndrome Society Moms encourage inclusion

Ezra, a Bojangles employee in Conway, has thrived for four years, greeting customers, maintaining the lobby, and keeping the place spotless. Supported by the Society’s 321 group, Ezra has developed skills, made friends, and learned life skills. His mother, Wanda, emphasizes that Down syndrome is just a label, not a disadvantage. The Society offers programs for all ages, fostering community connections and advocating for awareness. It encourages treating individuals with Down syndrome like anyone else, without labels.

The Grand Strand Down Syndrome Society is a volunteer-run organization dedicated to supporting families in and around the Grand Strand area.

Grocery store assault and carjacking in Greenville, South Carolina

SUMMARY: A carjacking and assault occurred this morning at 7:00 AM in a Food Lion parking lot on Augusta Road. The victim suffered injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital. The suspect stole a red Dodge Durango SUV, which was later found abandoned on West Georgia Road in Simpsonville. Investigators used canines to search for the suspect, who fled the scene. Greenville County forensics processed the SUV for evidence before it was towed away. Deputies are working to identify the suspect but have not confirmed if he is in custody.
