SUMMARY: In Rogers, a new sculpture named “Tornado Town” serves as a healing monument for the community after the violent storm on Memorial Day weekend. The sculpture, created from 475 donated trampoline springs, depicts the tornado that struck on May 26. Weighing 200 pounds and built from local damaged property, it took 500 hours to complete. Restoration of Notre-Dame cathedral in Paris nearing completion
SUMMARY: Notre-Dame Cathedral in Paris, after a devastating fire in April 2019, is set to hold its first Mass in three days, thanks to extensive global restoration efforts. Over 5.5 years, a dedicated team of architects, engineers, and artisans meticulously restored the 12th-century landmark to its pre-fire state, adhering to French President Emmanuel Macron’s vision. This involved rebuilding the spire and roof using century-old oak and replicating 19th-century designs. Some elements, like the 40-foot metal cross and the eight bells, survived and were restored. Enhanced fire safety measures ensure that Notre-Dame can continue to grace the Paris skyline securely.
