The funding will be used for heating and cooling improvements, as well as other cosmetic enhancements to improve visitor and performance experiences. Other projects in the capital city, such as improvements to Parkway at Jackson State and major thoroughfares around the university, Union Station, Hinds County Courthouse, and Hinds County Sheriff’s Office, also received funding from the state. Despite limited resources, state lawmakers allocated funds for various infrastructure improvements in different areas, benefitting cities like Brandon that cannot afford critical projects on their own.
