Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry emphasized the importance of this federal assistance for rebuilding after the hurricane. Wednesday 5 AM Tropical Update: Watching spot in northern Caribbean Sea
SUMMARY: High pressure is shifting east, allowing for potential tropical development in the northern Caribbean next week, although it’s still uncertain. The remnants of Gordon remain in the open Atlantic with no land impact expected. A low pressure area could form in the northwestern Caribbean, with the GFS model suggesting a possible tropical system could approach Florida by Thursday, September 26th. However, the European model indicates minimal activity aside from an area of moisture in the southern Gulf. Overall, no immediate tropical concerns are present, with pleasant weather anticipated as fall begins.
There is one spot with low tropical development chances in the northern Caribbean Sea. It is something to monitor over the next week, and it is too early to tell what will happen. Stay tuned for the latest on this. Elsewhere in the tropics, the remnants of Gordon are in the open Atlantic Ocean and will stay there. This will have no impacts on any land areas.

Showers and storms harder to find, running warm, and a long range tropical forecast
SUMMARY: A partial lunar eclipse was visible, peaking at 9:44 PM, with some chance to view it even as it returned to full moon status. Weather radar indicates lingering showers primarily over the coast, but these are fading. The remnants of Hurricane Francine are dissipating, raising temperatures and lowering rain chances. The forecast shows highs near 88-90ยฐF, with isolated shower chances decreasing to 10-30%. A drier air mass will move in for the weekend, along with pleasant weather for events like the Eagles game. Next week may bring a front and the possibility of light showers. No significant tropical activity is expected.
Meteorologist Devon Lucie shows us pics from the partial lunar eclipse Tuesday night, then lets us know where rain chances go through the rest of the week and how that will affect temperatures, then gets into the extended forecast with an early look at the weekend and the Saints Sunday forecast, then takes us out to the tropics where Gordon has weakened even below tropical depression status, then shows us what’s in store for the Caribbean and the Gulf of Mexico over the next seven days, while finishing with the seven day forecast giving us the summary of morning patchy fog potential the next three days, high temperature forecast and rain chances each day, and when a front might bring in our next likeliest round of rain next week.
