George M. Bryan Airport in Starkville granted $4.5M for new passenger terminal
The George M. Bryan (STF) Airport in Starkville has received $4.5 million in Federal Aviation Administration Airport Terminal Program (ATP) grants for a new passenger terminal.
With the grant funding, the airport will construct a new 9,850-square-foot terminal for charter and business aircraft, which will provide the full range of passenger services that are available at most regional airports. At this time, passengers get processed in the corner of a shared hangar at the airport.
The addition of the new facility will also be used as a central location for passengers to go through security to ensure more efficient processing.
“The George M. Bryan airport is the ‘front door’ of the city to over 10,000 visitors annually, but a lack of modern passenger facility has limited economic development. This major investment will provide a central location for passengers while also increasing safety, security, and efficiency for this growing airport,” U.S. Senator Roger…

Suspect in the killing of UnitedHealthcare’s CEO struggles, shouts while entering courthouse
SUMMARY: Luigi Nicholas Mangione, a 26-year-old Ivy League graduate, was arrested in Pennsylvania and charged with the murder of Brian Thompson, CEO of UnitedHealthcare. Mangione, who expressed disdain for corporate greed and the health insurance industry, was found with a gun matching the murder weapon and fraudulent IDs. He initially gave false identification but was recognized at a McDonald’s. Mangione, who wrote a three-page document expressing anti-corporate sentiments, is being extradited to New York. His family, shocked by his arrest, expressed condolences to Thompson’s family. Mangione had no prior criminal complaints but had a history of severe back pain.
