George County Sheriff’s Deputy Jeremy Malone laid to rest
SUMMARY: Deputy Jeremy Malone’s funeral was attended by friends, family members, colleagues, and dozens of law enforcement agencies as he was laid to rest after being killed in the line of duty. Malone was killed after stopping Rickey Powell at the Dollar General. Powell led officers on a pursuit to Perry County, where he was killed in a shootout. Mississippi Gov. Tate Reeves attended the service, honoring Malone’s dedication and courage. Malone is remembered for his service, integrity, and honor, leaving behind a wife and three daughters. People paid tribute to his service by leaving flowers at his service vehicle outside the George County Courthouse.
