George County man gets 25 years for aggravated domestic violence, burglary charges

A George County man will spend 25 years in prison after pleading guilty to beating his girlfriend, burglary and auto burglary.

Brandon Chase Tanner, 37,  pleaded guilty last week to aggravated domestic violence and the burglary charges.

Judge Dale Harkey sentenced Tanner to 20 years with 18 to serve for both the aggravated domestic violence and burglary of a dwelling charges and an additional 7 years for the auto burglary.

The aggravated domestic violence charge stemmed from an August 23, 2019 incident in which he beat his then girlfriend, Courtney Schouest, repeatedly…
