Gautier leaders, residents still seeking action after racially-charged comment by councilman | Pt…
SUMMARY: A year has passed since racially charged comments regarding Black Spring Break appeared on Goet councilman Rusty Anderson’s Facebook page. Anderson claims his account was hacked and has moved on, but many in Go Mississippi demand answers and action. Citizens, including Demarcus Hughes and Richard Jackson of the NAACP, want Anderson to step down for his offensive remarks. Despite Anderson’s lawyer’s evidence that he did not make the post, Jackson believes more concrete proof, like the MAC address, is needed. The African-American community in Go deserves better representation, and calls for Anderson to resign continue amidst ongoing racial tensions. Councilman Anderson and his attorney have not responded to request for comment.

Councilman Rusty Anderson said his account was hacked and he’s moving on, but many in Gautier still want answers and action.
