Gautier leaders approve over $7 million in bonds for city improvements

SUMMARY: City leaders have approved $7.3 million in bonds to tackle infrastructure issues, including water, sewage, and road improvements. The first bond, a $2 million general fund bond, will enhance the town center and Town Commons, remove older structures, and improve lighting along Highway 90. The second, a $5.3 million revenue bond, will address lift stations, drainage, and water treatment facilities. Mayor Casey Vaugh emphasizes the importance of maintaining solid infrastructure to prevent issues seen in other areas. Importantly, these bonds will not raise taxes, with revenue coming from online sales tax to cover paving projects.

During a meeting on Tuesday, the city approved $7.3 million in bonds to address issues including water, sewage, and roadwork.
