SUMMARY: A threat against G.W. Carver High School in New Orleans prompted officials to send students home early. This follows a social media threat that led to heightened security at about a dozen schools, including one closure and another lockdown. The NOPD is investigating and seeking the suspects. New Orleans Police Chief Anne Kirkpatrick assured parents that local, state, and federal agencies, including Homeland Security, are involved in the investigation. She encouraged parents and students to report any suspicious activity to authorities. An update from the NOPD is expected in about an hour.
