Friday is final day to apply for FEMA assistance after April 8-11 severe weather
SUMMARY: Mississippians affected by severe weather from April 8-11 have until 10 p.m. CT on August 9 to apply for federal assistance from FEMA. The agency encourages those with property damage in Hancock, Humphreys, Hinds, Madison, Neshoba, and Scott counties to apply via the FEMA Helpline, online at DisasterAssistance.gov, or through the FEMA mobile app. Assistance may cover rental support, housing, home repairs, and personal property loss. More than $10 million has already been approved for victims, with confirmed tornadoes damaging numerous homes in the region.
