SUMMARY: A Sequoyah County deputy, Duane Chase, was critically injured while directing traffic on Interstate 40 in Oklahoma. The incident occurred when a car struck him before colliding with his patrol vehicle. Chase, a deputy for three years, suffered multiple injuries, including broken ribs and vertebrae, and internal bleeding. He is currently in intensive care at UAMS Hospital.
