FRIDAY — COVID-19 cases top 1,000 for the day as 11 more deaths are reported

Mississippi’s total of presumptive cases of COVID-19 now stands at 34,622 after the Mississippi Health Department reported a near-record 1,031 newly identified cases on Friday.
This comes after last week’s daily average of 714 per day was the highest since the pandemic hit Mississippi officially in March.
