Freeze warnings start at midnight
SUMMARY: Southeast Louisiana is experiencing mostly clear and colder weather, with temperatures dropping to around 29 degrees on the North Shore. High pressure remains in control, maintaining calm conditions with minimal wind. New Orleans’ temperatures reached a high of 58, well below the average, with lows around 44. A freeze warning is in effect until 8 AM Sunday for colder areas. Moving forward, expect mostly sunny skies and a warming trend into the mid-60s by Sunday. The hurricane season ended with 18 named storms, above the average, including 11 hurricanes and five major hurricanes. Rain is expected mid-week.

Discover Monroe-West Monroe to celebrate 3-1-8 with time capsule
SUMMARY: Discover West Monroe and Monroe are gearing up to celebrate 318 Day on March 18th by burying a time capsule containing 318 community responses. This year’s celebration, marking the area code of Northern Louisiana, includes collecting various insights about local life, events, and interesting facts, with submissions due by March 14th. The time capsule will be buried behind the Discover West Monroe building at 2 p.m. and will remain until November 18, 2056. March 18th is only a few days away now, and Discover Monroe and West Monroe is going to be celebrating 3-1-8 day once again. There will be many different things happening throughout the day, including the burying of a time capsule.
