SUMMARY: Governor Tate Reeves has vetoed House Bill 569, intended to reform Mississippi’s certificate of need (CON) laws, which require healthcare providers to obtain government approval for significant expenditures. Most Mississippi drivers issued licenses since 2018 already have REAL IDs. After May 7, REAL IDs can still be obtained but won’t be valid for air travel or federal access until issued.
