Fred McNair is headed to the SWAC Hall of Fame
SUMMARY: Former Alcorn State head football coach Fred McNair has been inducted into the SWAC Hall of Fame as part of the 2024 class. A former All-Conference quarterback in 1989, McNair transitioned to coaching and led the Braves to consecutive SWAC championships in 2018 and 2019, along with four division titles during his eight-year tenure. He was recognized as SWAC Coach of the Year twice, and under his leadership, the team reached two Celebration Bowls. McNair is celebrated as the original “Air McNairโ for his significant contributions to the Alcorn State football program.
After 8 years leading his alma mater on the football field, former Braves wide receiver, quarterback and head football coach, Fred McNair is going into the SWAC Hall of Fame. The Original Air McNair led the Braves to back back SWAC titles in 2018, 2019 and won 4 East Division titles in his 8 seasons as head coach. The induction ceremony is set for December 13th in Atlanta.

Pearl High School put on lockdown

Columbus police chief says crime rates are down
