Francine rainfall totals and track now
SUMMARY: Orleans experienced significant rainfall, particularly in the southern regions, with totals reaching up to 4 inches in Simpson County and 2-3 inches in areas like Jackson and Yazoo County. Heavy rain impacted southeastern Louisiana, with some areas near New Orleans recording over 8 inches. Despite continued wind gusts of 15-30 mph, heavy rain is expected to shift northwards, bringing a brief drying period later in the day. Power outages spiked this morning but have since decreased, with some pockets of outages remaining. Looking ahead, pleasant weather with sunshine and cooler temperatures is forecasted for the upcoming days.

Deadly bus crash happens in Pike County
SUMMARY: Two people died in a bus accident on Highway 98 in Pike County, as reported by the Mississippi Highway Patrol. The incident occurred Thursday evening around 5:30 PM when a bus belonging to Mississippi Gulf Coast Community College, traveling westbound, collided with a red Ford Ranger. Investigators confirmed that the two individuals in the Ranger did not survive the crash.
