Remains of missing mother Emily Strite found in Jefferson County

Authorities have confirmed that human remains discovered over the weekend in Jefferson County are those of Emily Strite, a mother who was first reported missing in April.
Strite was last seen on April 12, 2024, and reported missing on April 20, 2024, according to the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office.
The sheriff’s office says her skeletal remains were found on Sept. 28 in a wooded area near the 4100 block of Frissell Road. A property owner discovered the remains and reported the incident to authorities.
After testing for medical and dental records, the sheriff’s office says the remains were positively identified as those of Strite.
