Four Seasons shooting in Midtown Atlanta | What we know

Landscaper shot during robbery in Decatur
SUMMARY: A landscaper is in the hospital after being shot during an armed robbery attempt on Claremont Avenue. The incident occurred around 5 PM, involving suspects 17-year-old John Quay Holt and 22-year-old Jeffrey Thorp, who attempted to escape by running through nearby yards after the shooting. They were apprehended shortly after. Local residents expressed shock at the crime’s proximity to busy areas, including a bus stop, and called for increased police presence. Authorities are warning landscapers to be vigilant, especially as robberies targeting their crews have become more frequent in the area. Both suspects face multiple charges.

Georgia certifies presidential election results | Georgia
SUMMARY: Georgia Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger certified the 2024 presidential election results, marking a faster, secure process compared to 2020. He congratulated President-elect Donald Trump, who won Georgia and other battleground states. Photos lead to disturbing discovery | FOX 5 News
SUMMARY: Dozens of cremated human remains were found inside the Norman Medford Pon Funeral Home in Marietta, which had been closed since a fire last spring. Investigators discovered 35 boxes of cremains, along with death certificates and personal information. The remains were uncovered after a man from England posted photos of the abandoned building on social media. The medical examiner is working to identify the remains and contact families. The funeral home, which was sold in 2016, was originally opened by a local family in 1991. The investigation is ongoing, with authorities working to confirm the identities of the deceased.
