Mississippians encouraged to practice firework safety during July 4th holiday
SUMMARY: As the Fourth of July nears, Dr. Derek Culnan, a burn specialist at Baptist Memorial Hospital in Jackson, stresses the importance of fireworks safety. He observes an increase in serious burns during this period and advises having specific safety roles: a sober designated shooter, a person responsible for safety with water or a hose handy, and someone to keep children clear of fireworks.
