Former MPD sergeant found not guilty on 17 counts of theft, embezzlement
SUMMARY: Former Meridian Police Department sergeant Dareall D. Thompson has been found not guilty of 17 federal counts of theft and embezzlement. Thompson was accused of falsifying time sheets and using public funds for personal use. The allegations were brought forth by former Meridian City Councilman Weston Lindemann in 2018, who claimed that four officers, including Thompson, were embezzling and collecting federal funds. Thompson was believed to have embezzled over $14,000 between 2016 and 2019. The other indicted individuals, Captain James F. Arrington, Officer Tenesia A. Evans, and former Officer Erica L. Harmon, faced charges for similar offenses.
