Former JSU standout returns to join TC Taylor's staff
SUMMARY: Former Jackson State football player Chavancy Jones returned to his alma mater as the new special teams coordinator and outside linebackers coach. A former All-American linebacker at Jackson State, Jones also had success as a coach, serving as the defensive coordinator at Louisville for the last five seasons and winning three state championships. Jones expressed his excitement about returning to his dream school and bringing a champion mindset to the team. He hopes to inspire young players at Jackson State to work hard and achieve success at the next level, just as he did. Overall, he is eager to contribute to the team and help players reach their potential.

Former Jackson State All-American linebacker Javancy Jones is back at his alma mater as the newest hire to TC Taylor’s staff. Javancy is the new special teams coordinator and linebackers coach after a successful tenure as defensive coordinator at Lousiville High School. There he led some of the best defensive units in the state and won three state titles. The JSU product brings that success and his experience as a successful player who had a stint NFL to the current roster who hope to do some of the things he had able to do at Jackson State.

Election results are trickling in
SUMMARY: Election results are beginning to emerge from municipal primary elections across the region. In Flowood, the mayoral contest between Kathy Smith and Greg Wilcox requires hand counting, leading to a longer wait for results.
