Former JSU receiver still has a shot at the NFL

SUMMARY: Former Jackson State University receiver, Malachi Wideman, has become eligible to be entered into this year’s unique supplemental draft. This draft is specifically for players who have unique situations, such as being draft-eligible but not entering the main draft in April and then not being able to return to school. Wideman, who transferred from Tennessee, had an impressive first season at JSU with 12 touchdown catches. He is also a two-sport athlete, having played basketball in high school and at JSU. If a team selects Wideman, they will forfeit a pick in next year’s draft. Interestingly, Purdue receiver Milton Wright is the only other player in the supplemental draft.

Former Jackson Stat receiver Malachi Wideman has been granted entry into the NFL Supplemental Draft. This keeps his NFL dreams alive. Wideman was a two-sport standout at in high school and JSU. He had 12 touchdowns in 2021 season which was tied for the most in the SWAC. The NFL Supplemental Draft is Tuesday, July 11.

Group of 20 become new United States citizens

SUMMARY: A naturalization ceremony at the U.S. Courthouse in Jackson, Mississippi, welcomed 20 new American citizens from 15 different countries. Age is just a number as elderly and youth unite for an Easter egg hunt

Justin Chaney 500th Win
