Focused on Mississippi: Removing trash-fish from Lake Washington
SUMMARY: Lake Washington in Mississippi, known for its fishing, has become too populated with unwanted fish species such as gar, white bass, yellow bass, and carp. A cleanup effort is underway to reduce these fish populations and improve the overall fishing experience in the lake. Despite its history of pollution due to cotton field runoff, Lake Washington has been transformed into a popular crappie fishing destination. The lake is not landlocked and receives water from the Mississippi River during high water periods. Efforts are being made to restore the balance of fish species in the lake and improve the fishing experience for enthusiasts.
