SUMMARY: Vote by mail participation in Florida has declined significantly, with only 2.03 million ballots mailed this election season compared to 3.35 million in 2016, marking a 65% decrease. As of now, Republicans accounted for 36.6% of mailed ballots, Democrats 42.5%, and nonaffiliated voters 18.9%. Early voting, which began Tuesday, has seen 202,036 ballots cast by Republicans and 108,832 by Democrats. In 2020, during the pandemic, Florida mailed 4.48 million ballots, with 20.3% not submitted. Historically, 2016 had 3.35 million vote by mail, with Republicans making up 40.6% and Democrats 38.4%.
