Florida plans to seek death penalty in Jamaria Sessions death
SUMMARY: The state plans to pursue the death penalty against Tyell Martin, a woman charged with first-degree murder in the death of 9-year-old Jamaria Sessions. Deputies allege that Martin beat Jamaria and ordered her dog to attack the girl. Jamaria tragically died in June, and her father has also been arrested in connection with her death.
Florida prosecutors announced Monday that they plan to seek the death penalty against Tyshael Elise Martin in the brutal death of Jamaria Sessions. Police allege Tyschael beat and abused the 9-year-old girl, and let a dog visciously attack the girl. Jamaria Sessions died at the hospital. The girl’s biological father, Lo Juan Sessions, has also been arrested in the girl’s death.
