Florida man charged after allegedly running into Laurel County gas station 'armed with a baseball ba
SUMMARY: A Florida man, Sha Gurnie, 52, was arrested after a chaotic incident at Sunny’s Barbecue in Laurel County. The disturbance began around 9:30 PM when he was seen doing donuts in the parking lot and crashing into traffic cones. When police arrived, he was reportedly wielding a baseball bat and making threats at a nearby Shell station. Gurnie claimed he had escaped a motorcycle gang after being held captive for 13 days, but officers noted his incoherent behavior, suggesting he was under the influence. He now faces multiple charges, including terroristic threatening and disorderly conduct.
When law enforcement arrived, deputies asked 52-year-old Sean Michael Gurney of Florida what had happened. He told authorities that he had allegedly recently escaped after being held captive by a motorcycle gang for 13 days.

Teddy Bear Clinic in Lexington looks to eliminate fear and stigma about going to hospital
SUMMARY: Children‘s Hospital in Lexington hosted its annual Teddy Bear Clinic to help reduce stigma and fear around hospitalizations. Children brought their favorite stuffed animals for medical checkups and pretend surgeries, allowing them to play the roles of nurses and doctors. Organizers aim to decrease anxiety about medical care and inspire interest in the medical field. Participants went through simulated surgical steps and toured the hospital. Jessica DeDeandra reassured attendees that the clinic has a 100% success rate, meaning all stuffed animals leave happy and healthy, fostering a positive experience around healthcare.

One victim taken to hospital after fire, PRP firefighter also injured
SUMMARY: On September 16th, firefighters are responding to a significant house fire in Valley Station on Stephanie Drive, first reported around 3:04 AM. They arrived within three minutes and controlled the flames within half an hour. One civilian was rescued and transported to the University of Louisville Hospital, while a firefighter suffered first and second-degree burns but is expected to recover. Arson investigators are on-site to determine the cause of the fire, which had advanced significantly upon arrival, with flames visible from the home.
