Flora man sentenced to life for first-degree murder after shooting into occupied vehicle
SUMMARY: Jakeviyon Hunter, a man from Flora, Mississippi, has been found guilty of first-degree murder and shooting into an occupied vehicle. He was sentenced to life in prison for the murder charge and an additional five years for the shooting. The incident occurred on January 21 when Hunter shot Jaquarius Ross multiple times, resulting in his death. Surveillance footage showed Hunter firing nine shots into Ross’ vehicle before fleeing the scene. The passenger in the vehicle identified Hunter as the gunman. Investigators found evidence on Hunter’s cell phone linking him to the crime. The motive was believed to be a previous dispute between the two.
