SUMMARY: Jim Ellis, the legendary radio broadcaster for Mississippi State baseball, has announced his retirement after 46 years. Beginning in 1979, Ellis became the “Voice of the Diamond Dawgs,” covering historic moments like 33 NCAA Regional appearances, seven SEC Tournament titles, and the program’s first national championship in 2021. He also took on football and men’s basketball duties from 2011 until his retirement in 2017. Ellis was inducted into the Ron Polk Ring of Honor in 2024.
