Flash flood warning issued for much of central Mississippi
SUMMARY: Tropical Storm Francine, which made landfall as a Category 2 hurricane in Louisiana, is now affecting Mississippi. Mississippians encouraged to use free life insurance policy locator tool to find lost benefits
SUMMARY: Mississippi’s insurance commissioner, Mike Chaney, is urging residents to utilize an online tool for locating lost life insurance policies. In 2023 alone, over 1,600 Mississippians used the National Association of Insurance Commissioners’ tool, recovering more than $46 million in benefits. The service is free and confidential, having assisted more than 4,400 consumers since its launch in November 2016, totaling over $99 million in claims. Chaney encourages individuals to consult insurance agents for policy options and to access the locator tool for any lost policies.
