Fitness Friday: Front Squat
SUMMARY: Last week, Reservoir CrossFit showcased the clean and jerk. This week, we're back at the Brandon gym to discuss front squats, a lift that, despite its intimidating nature, helps in daily life. Tim demonstrated a front squat, emphasizing core stability and an upright torso compared to back squats. Front squats recruit more muscles, especially in the legs and core. It's crucial to maintain a front rack position with high elbows, but for those lacking shoulder mobility, modified positions are acceptable. For home workouts, use objects like kettlebells or canned goods. Ensure even weight distribution across the feet for effective squats.

SUMMARY: An investigation is underway in Pedal following an early morning shooting that left 27-year-old Bernell Gold dead. Around 3:15 a.m., a woman reported to Pedal Police that her ex-boyfriend was banging on her door. After he forced his way inside, another man in the home shot him. Gold later died at the hospital. The Forest County Coroner identified the deceased, and no arrests have been made yet. The investigation continues.
