The current building, established in 1962, survived both Hurricane Katrina and Camille. Pastor Jeremy Turner, who began leading the church in 2023, emphasized the church’s commitment to making a lasting impact on the community, including adopting a local school. SUMMARY: Mississippi Power has partnered with Harrison County to launch its annual Christmas tree recycling program, running from today until January 12th. Five convenient drop-off locations are available throughout Harrison County for residents to recycle their live Christmas trees. The trees must be free of decorations and cannot be flocked. The recycled trees will be transformed into mulch for parks and flower beds, supporting environmental stewardship. This program, which has been ongoing for several years, aims to provide a safe disposal option while enhancing local green spaces. Residents are encouraged to recycle their trees promptly to prevent fire hazards.

Gifts are now unwrapped and decorations are all boxed up — but where do we throw out our Christmas trees? Kaila Moran Griffith answers.
