First-ever Anchor Drop coming to Pascagoula for New Year's Eve

The symbol of hope for the maritime city will be restored and placed onto a building. The anchor will drop at midnight on New Year’s Eve at the intersection of Magnolia Street and Watts Avenue. The event will also feature live performances by “Coast Motel” and a U.S. band. Hosted by the Babershaw Family, the event aims to bring life back to the city and is free to attend. Work crews are testing and installing the anchor to ensure everything runs smoothly for the big day.

For the very first time, the city and Main Street Pascagoula are hosting an anchor drop on New Year’s Eve to ring in the 2024 New Year’s celebration.
