SUMMARY: Morgan County is set to enhance career education in agriculture with the establishment of its first Agricultural Center, supported by a $4 million donation from the state. This initiative aims to offer students opportunities to explore careers in farming, agribusiness, research, and food science. Currently, there are limited resources for local youth to engage in agricultural activities, such as FFA programs. The new facility will provide a dedicated space for students to learn about various aspects of agriculture and foster their interest in related careers, marking a significant development for the county.

Morgan County will soon teach students in the district about careers in farming.

SUMMARY: In recent developments, Trump appointed Matt Gaetz as Attorney General, while Senator Tuberville expressed support for Trump’s plan to dismantle the U.S. Department of Education. Tuberville argues that education should be managed at the state level, criticizing the federal government’s involvement for worsening the state of education. He highlighted the importance of well-educated students for the country’s future and noted that dismantling the Department would require a Senate supermajority. In leadership news, Republicans elected John Thune as the new Senate Majority Leader, with Tuberville voting for Rick Scott and advocating for unity in support of Trump’s agenda.

President-elect Donald Trump has vowed to close the U.S. Department of Education, and Sen. Tommy Tuberville said he strongly supports the president’s plan.
