First Alert Weather Focus – 09/25/2024
SUMMARY: Chief Meteorologist Patrick Bigby discusses the weather forecast, focusing on a cold front moving through the region and the approaching Hurricane Helen, which is expected to make landfall on the Gulf Coast soon. The storm, currently a high-end Category 3, poses risks of hurricane-force winds and flooding in Florida, Georgia, and parts of the Carolinas. Residents are warned to prepare for power outages and structural damage. As the cold front exits, cooler and clearer weather is anticipated in South Mississippi. The forecast highlights rain chances dropping and comfortable temperatures over the coming days, amid serious concerns for those in Helen’s projected path.
