Fire department still dealing with severe weather damage aftermath
SUMMARY: Nearly a year after severe weather caused major damage to the Proctorville Volunteer Fire Department, recovery efforts continue. Strong winds destroyed one engine and damaged another, with part of the building’s roof and a rear wall collapsing. Although the fire department is 99% back to normal, some equipment is still missing. Volunteers rely on community support to replace lost items, and a community day event on April 5th will help fund recovery efforts. The department is also considering rebuilding or constructing a new fire station. Proceeds from the event will support these efforts.

The department will be hosting an event with part of the proceeds going to replace items they lost because of severe weather.
