FEMA village to house storm victims is in the works

SUMMARY: The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has selected a site in Amory, Mississippi to create a village to house victims of a tornado that tore through the area in March. Many residents have been unable to return to their homes and have been staying in temporary accommodations. The village will consist of one, two, and three-bedroom units, including mobile homes and travel trailers. FEMA is currently working on lease agreements and expects to place the units within 45-60 days. An information meeting on the FEMA village will be held tomorrow at the Benjamin Wax Community Center.
