Mississippi State parts ways with head baseball coach Chris Lemonis amid underwhelming campaign
SUMMARY: Mississippi State has fired head baseball coach Chris Lemonis after a disappointing 2025 season. The Bulldogs, currently 25-19 with a 7-14 conference record, are set to miss the postseason for the second time in three years. Lemonis, hired in 2018, led the team to a national championship in 2021 but struggled afterward with a 42-69 conference record. Athletic director Zac Selmon emphasized the need for leadership change to meet expectations. Pitching coach Justin Parker will serve as interim head coach while a national search for a permanent replacement begins. The season continues against Kentucky this weekend.
