Feel Good Friday: Mississippi man donates organ to stranger
SUMMARY: Paul V from Rochester, Minnesota, received a life-saving liver transplant from donor John Maxi. Maxi had previously donated a kidney to a stranger in 2019 and was one of around 30 people in the country to donate multiple organs. The transplant was successful, and both V and Maxi are recovering well. However, there is still a need for liver donors, as around 15,000 people are waiting for a liver transplant. The importance of living donors was highlighted by Dr. Timin Tanner, a transplant surgeon. Both V and Maxi are grateful for the chance at a new life and encourage others to consider organ donation.

Union County industrial park receiving more than $3 million for 2 projects
SUMMARY: Union County is set to receive over $3 million from a statewide grant totaling more than $110 million for local economic development projects. The funds will be used for the development of the Martintown North Industrial Park, aimed at enhancing job creation and quality of life in the area. Current work includes clearing land for an elevated water tower, with future plans for a new building pad and a water well. Nearly $10 million in investments are being allocated for the park, with the water tower expected to be completed next year and further construction planned for 2026.

Jackson veteran receives donated vehicle
