We spoke to several experts working to clear up confusion and misconceptions about the recent rate cut. “Everyone thinks when the fed cuts interest rates, then mortgage rates go down. Unfortunately, that’s not the case,” Jon Howard with Howard Team Loans said.

SUMMARY: The Fox 35 Storm Team is monitoring potential Tropical Cyclone 9, which is expected to strengthen into a tropical storm tonight and could become a hurricane by midweek, possibly reaching Category 2 status due to warm Gulf waters and minimal wind shear. The storm is moving north at 6 mph, with landfall likely in the Florida Panhandle around late Thursday. Areas in Central Florida could experience severe weather, including strong winds, heavy rain (2-4 inches), and tornado threats. Residents are advised to prepare emergency supplies and stay tuned for updates as the situation develops.

FOX 35 meteorologist T.J. Springer provides an update on Potentical Tropical Cyclone Nine, which is expected to become a tropical storm and then a hurricane before reaching Florida later this week.

SUMMARY: Florida has ranked first in the Heritage Foundation’s Education Freedom Report Card for the third consecutive year, excelling in education choice, transparency, teacher freedom, and return on investment. Lawmakers enacted measures protecting parental and teacher rights and allowing parental review of classroom assignments. The state was recognized for its extensive school choice expansion through House Bill 1 and support for homeschooling autonomy. Florida ranked second in teacher freedom but could improve by limiting nonteaching staff growth. It finished eighth in return on investment, spending $12,108 per student while achieving average National Assessment of Educational Progress scores, suggesting areas for improvement.
