Federal disaster recovery center to open in Madison County

SUMMARY: MEMA and FEMA are launching a sixth disaster recovery center in Madison County at the Karl M. Banks Emergency Services Complex following severe weather in Mississippi from April 8-11. The center opens on June 24, operating weekdays 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and Saturdays 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Other centers are located in Hinds, Humphreys, Neshoba, and Scott counties. The Hinds Community College center will close on June 25 but reopen elsewhere in Hinds County. To apply for assistance, residents need to provide personal, insurance, damage, and financial information. Assistance is also available online, via the FEMA app, or by calling the FEMA helpline.
