FBI now says New Orleans attacker likely acted alone | Louisiana
SUMMARY: On New Year’s Day, Shamsud-Din Jabbar, a 42-year-old Army veteran, drove a rented pickup truck into crowds on Bourbon Street in New Orleans, resulting in 15 deaths, including his own, and numerous injuries. The FBI is investigating the incident as an act of terrorism, believing Jabbar acted alone. He posted videos professing allegiance to ISIS and communicating his motivations. The FBI has deployed critical assets for investigation, and Governor Jeff Landry announced that state resources have been mobilized to ensure safety during the Sugar Bowl. Two improvised explosive devices found nearby were safely neutralized.
