Fatal accident claims a woman’s life in Monroe Co.

SUMMARY: A single-vehicle crash in Monroe, Mississippi, has claimed the of 73-year-old Lela Swindle Pate from Aberdeen. The incident occurred on October 29, around 2:30 p.m. Pate was driving a 2016 Hyundai Elantra when the vehicle veered off Coontail Road and struck a tree. Both Pate and a passenger were trapped but were rescued by first responders. Pate was taken to a local hospital where she later died from multiple trauma, despite wearing a seatbelt. MUW and ECCC collaborate to enhance educational access
