Farm to Table | Eat Like a Local with Chris Shepherd, Ep. 28
SUMMARY: Eating like a local starts with supporting nearby farms and understanding what we consume. At Ainson Farms in Spring, Texas, a family-owned operation since 1961, locals harvest seasonal produce delivered fresh to restaurants. This farm-to-table approach ensures vegetables like tomatoes and strawberries are picked on the same day they reach dining tables. Local Foods Marketplace emphasizes fresh, local ingredients, featuring seasonal menus. The Urban Harvest Farmers Market showcases diverse vendors and promotes the importance of local sourcing. Engaging directly with farms fosters community connections and ensures healthier, fresher food options that celebrate regional agriculture.
Shepherd visits a local produce farm, farmers market, and restaurant in the premiere of Season 2 of โEat Like a Local’.
